I would say that they are probably on the verge of becoming illegal also. The fact that they scare the crap out of people enough to make them jump and swerve while driving should be enough of a reason to make em illegal. Then the person with the horns becomes the manace, not the little old lady.

 

When people pull out in front of my motorcycle I wish I could shoot out all 4 of their tires. Since I obviously can't, scaring the bejesus out of them with a train horn is almost as fun.

 

LOL While I can feel your pain about idiots not paying attention and pulling out in front of you on your bike, I still think that train horns are way too obnoxious. Not only do you scare the bejesus out of that idiot, but you also scare the bejesus out of the others who did nothing to you. You also risk injuring their hearing with a 150 db horn. (obviously you don't care about your own, so I won't go there)

 

If you use them correctly there cool. but if your sitting in a parking lot laying on the horns your a deushe.

I am also pretty sure they are illegal. If a truck driver use's there are horns for no reason the can get a citation so why not these ?

Okay...so I might be exagerating just a bit. I'm pretty mild mannered and a RESPONSIBLE gun owner. However there are people out there that don't need much to set them off and might respond to being horn blasted in a very ugly manner and ya never know who those people are until it's too late.....

 

my buddy has the huge machined aluminum locomotive horns under his truck bed. they are SO FUCKING LOUD that if u blast them people jump , fall , freak out and what not. One black guy jumped into the metal store front roll down shit and fell on the ground. I almost spit beer all over his dash board and pissed myself

 

u may be just being sarcastic, but were would u place the horns and compressor on a bike? i like em. my buddy has a set he got from IDEAL under the bed of his dodge, and their wired thru his horn, and everytime the fucker sets his alarm, thats all u hear, is them horns. their good for moving ppl out the way, thats for damn sure.

 

The horns can usually be placed on the front frame rails just behind the front tire - you know, the rail that the motor mounts to. The compressor, well, that kinda varies by bike. In fact, the entire mounting solution varies from bike to bike, but there are plenty of bikes out there that can put bit honkin air horns on 'em.
