How come nobody was bitchin when Clinton was in office? Hmm. Crazy huh? Give the man a chance. Stop pouting and if you don't like move out the country. After the last 8yrs of a rep in office Helen Keller could have ran against McSame and would have won. Whites are still the majority in the US and guess what a lot of them voted for BO. And if you really want to know I didn't vote for BO either.

democrat...I would have voted for him if he was Republican...I also complained very much when Clinton was in office....

for me it was protection of this country, protection of my money and American values.

I am a CAPITALIST! Not a SOCIALIST!

Neither. I didn't vote for him because he's full of shit.

But hey, I'm willing to give him a chance. God knows I don't want to get on his bad side before he starts writing those checks for college tuition, gasoline, mortgage payments, food etc. Money for nothin' and chicks for free. I really think this is going to get interesting now. I'm mostly interested in seeing how his taxing the hell out of businesses and the "rich" is going to keep them from "exporting jobs overseas".

I'm hoping that when my boss says screw it and closes the doors that he'll take me with him and let me be his valet.

Tony,

I was frustrated with Bush got into office the 1st term. But optimistic, I gave him a chance. And he didn't meet expectations. Then when he was re-elected I was dumbfounded. But I still said maybe he can redeem himself and I gave him another chance but it got worse. I think that's what the majority of americans thought when they voted this time. They way I look at it it can't be any worse that it is now. Jobs have been going over seas for years. My job was exported back in 2004 so that's nothing new. I think the economic status of America will bounce back within his term. But looking over the past presidents this may be a pattern. In the great depression era there was 2 rep presidents (Coolidge and Hoover) that were in office when we hit rock bottom. Then FDR (dem) was elected into office and Truman thereafter (dem). I think history is just repeating itself. So I'll give him a chance and if he sucks, then I'll be the first one to say it.

Ohhh, but it can get soooo much worse. It's going to be a hell of a ride. Just make sure your seatbelt is buckled. You can use the reasoning that it's buckled because there's going to be a hell of a crash or because there's going to be a skyrocket to Nirvana...but just be sure you're buckled up.

NAFTA was a big killer to our economy. Look around at whats left just in say manufactuing...... I am a Union Ironworker by trade before getting into the bail industry. It was sad when I was in Maryland seeing Bethlehem Steel that used to employ several thousand people and in 2000 there was only like 100 people there. Keep sending our American jobs overseas and we will have nothing. Someone needs to bring our economy back up by giving American companies a break for employing OUR citizens.

don't forget also a factor in job loss is the EPA. Other countries don't have restrictions that make it costly to produce goods. Take copper for example, cheaper for us to gather it, ship it to asia they smelt it and send it back in the form of a product. Then we stamp it with a trademark and sell it as a product here in the US. Along with the labor, insurance, TAXES it makes better business sense to look elsewhere for precurement of goods. Just one issue that we are looking at for the reasons of lost jobs.

And also as Americans we don't want to work for peanuts. We want to get paid 10/hr and work at Mcdonalds. Overseas (and acrosss the boarder) they pay those people dirt and 10hr shifts. But we've brought this on ourselves. My job was shipped overseas. Best thing for me. I found another job that paid more and had better benefits. A blessing in disguise I guess.

Yeah, but just think of the kick ass wages and benefits that the Unions got for you guys. It was a hell of a deal, wasn't it? Goose and Golden Egg. It's really not too hard to figure out and understand. Why should a business stay where the cost of doing business is outrageous? They have 2 options, go somewhere else where the atmosphere is better or close the door and send your employees on their way. Just think what it would do to your business if the International Brotherhood of Skip Tracers got together and forced you to pay them 90% of what they recover on top of a salary of say $18.00 per hour and provide them with full Blue Cross, Blue Shield coverage as well as oh, lets say a mileage surcharge, per dieum if they have to go out of town, 8 weeks of paid vacation and a retirement fund.
