I visit a client right next to the Humane Society in Tampa, so I go in there at least once a week and give the dogs some treats... There are some AWESOME quality dogs there right now and some of them have been there for months. I've taken some pictures but you can also view them here:

If you want a dog in your life and CAN CARE FOR THEM AND NOT TREAT THEM LIKE UNDERWEAR, you know who you are - consider a "used" dog from the shelter - they love just the same as a "new" dog.

Be honest with yourself. If you are truely ready to own a dog as a family member and not an "accessory", you should check these guys out. Check out MAX, he's super, super smart but he's very active, so if you like to run and have a big yard, this guy is great!
