Default Propane Powered Mustang

Propane Mustang

Pretty cool concept. I remember a guy I used to know had a propane powered ford van (10+ yrs ago). Kinda long video and the interviewer isnt the best. Bang for the buck though, it seems to be better than gasoline.

My old 72 Blazer had a propane setup, it was quickly ripped out. Propane is for BBQ's.

Doesn't propane have like 128 octane rating?

I know the diesel guys spray it like NOS....

I read an article back in 79 or 80, where a guy took a 79 hatch and converted it over. The trick is in the metering and storage tank. It ran great and didnt cost hardly anything to run.
Teco had some fleet trucks for awhile that ran on the stuff. I would run it. Car might go off like a roman candle in a bad crash though.

I don't know if you remember a few years ago, a propane tanker ran off the Vets. It busted the valve on the tanker and it was leaking propane. I remember the fire department just went over and lit it. (well, maybe it took some skill in that, but ) I don't know how explosive it would be, but I remember watching it all on Baynews 9.

The only real problem I can imagine with propane, is that it comes from crude oil as well. I would think those prices would have raised as well.... guess I will find out when the grill stops working...

you can set it on fire to burn off the fuel. if you dont lite it you cant see it and itll go everywhere (atmosphere). the flame wont go into the take due to the pressure and it being too rich of an environment. although, the tanks can get hot and cause the gas/vapor to B.L.E.V.E. (explode). it looks cool as hell but the EPA doesnt think so for some reason.
