Spring Hill?
What's there to do up there? Work, fun, trouble?
Amanda & I are heavily considering a move up there
Nice 1400 s/f home, with a fire place, completely rennovated, 2/2/2 + jacuzzi, bar, and storage shed out back... $115k asking price

I think the days of cheap gas are gone. You'll basically be financing a cheaper house every time you stop at the gas station. I'd pay extra to be closer to everything and use less gas.
as far as partying? not a damn thing unless your idea is to goto a hole in the wall bar and get drunk with bikers or goto applebees and get drunk there. Theres Capones which is a big pool hall, but its boring. Also saints and sinners, havemnt been there though. After that if you are really bored just do what everyone else does and goto 1 of the 3 super walmarts that are within 10 miles of each other late at night. Though you are near some nice lakes at times and croom area.

All that there is to do in SH is fapping....by yourself unless you're married...and even then it's sketchy.
Capone's is SUPER boring, and saint and sinners is just a drug haven IMO. Better to stay in Tampa. It isn't worth the drive. Figure about a $20 bill a day per car.

Yea, I've not really been impressed with Springhill the few times I've been there.....and unless you can work there or somewhere close by, I can't really see it being worth it....it's at least an hour to get to Tampa from there....

Don't be foolish Josh. The smart way of thinking is to buy the same house in the getto of tampa for 300k. just think of all the gas you'll save.
For those that don't understand:
My fiance works 8 miles NE of the location we're considering buying. Currently her drive is 49.5 miles each way.
I work directly in S. Tampa (currently; considering a possible change if the house is worth the buy), and even with commuting there from my current location it's 31.5 miles and takes anywhere between 45 minutes to 70 minutes (traffic?!).
Driving from the new location (Spring Hill) would only add 15.2 miles to the commute (each way) for me: 46.7. AND THE ESTIMATED TRAVEL TIME IS THE SAME!! Because all the driving will be interstate (Veteran's Xwy), versus trying to get into Tampa from US19...
So I would add 32 miles to my commute per day, however Amanda would save 82 miles on her's daily. So we'd be SAVING 50 miles commuting PER DAY!
You do the math... At the cost of gas...

Furthermore, for us to buy the same house, with the same condition (jacuzzi, wet bar, already rennovated, new everything), and same situations (ie: large lot, no deed restrictions, etc) in or near Tampa - we'd easily be in the $140-$150k range.
And let's be honest, Tampa sucks. I hate it there.

Sounds like you've already got your mind made up. It's an alright place to live there's just not shit to do. Being married I guess that doesn't matter as much though. If you really gotta get outta Tampa, then go for it.
