Exclamation Something to think about

Joe Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN) for 6am. While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA) was perking, he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG). He put on a dress shirt(MADE IN SRI LANKA), designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE ) and tennis shoes (MADE IN KOREA). After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet (MADE IN INDIA) he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO) to see how much he could spend today. After setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN) to the radio (MADE IN INDIA) he got in his car (MADE IN GERMANY) filled it with GAS from Saudi Arabia and continued his search for a good paying AMERICAN JOB. At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day checking his Computer (MADE IN MALAYSIA), Joe decided to relax for a while. He put on his sandals(MADE IN BRAZIL) poured himself a glass of wine (MADE IN FRANCE) and turned on his TV (MADE IN INDONESIA), and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job in.. AMERICA.....

So, what is this suppossed to say; that globalization is a bad thing? Because if that is the point you're attempting to make the global economy disagrees with you.

By the way, who here has ever really had a truly hard time finding a job (at least 2 months or more with no interviews) because the job(s) they were looking for were outsourced, and not because their compensation expectations were too high or they were just plain lazy?

I know I haven't. Nobody that I personally know has, either.

I know personally that anything made in China is a piece of shit...and slowing but surely they are devaluing our dollar and filling our country with junk, and now we are finding that junk is hurting us, like the kids toys they send us with lead in them.....

Well I know what it is that you are tring to say, But I have personaly been laid off twice in the past 10 years from 2 different companys that moved thier plants overseas, so outsourcing has effected me. And over 1 million jobs in the past decade too. So it does hurt us. But thanks for the input. As far a compensation expectations being too high, well lets see Fuel prices have tripled in the past 15 years price of milk has over doubled and over all cost of living has tripled so are you saying we should still be able to live at $10 and hour? Being that is what my wage was 15 years ago!

wow, are you serious?!?!

fuck that......I would never buy a Chinese car....nor will I buy anything from Saleen if that happens......

China is junk, pure and simple. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for a global market....Japanese stuff is great, great cars, great electronics, very high quality. And obviously, German cars, Italian cars, BMW, Benz, Ferrari etc., are alll great; I love Guinness. So I have no problem with good quality foreign products. It's this Chinese junk that they are slowly but surely hurting our country with and the poor quality of goods and services coming from third world countries that I have issues with.
