Default Watching from afar...

My name is Charlie and I live in the Seattle WA area. Why Tampa Racing? Ulterior motives: my daughter is a student at Eckerd College in St. Pete and just drove her 80K 2002 VW Turbo Beetle from Seattle in 4 days (she pays her own speeding tickets). I'm interested in keeping my ear to the ground for her in this forum and also learning about St. Pete local repair shops. Currently tuned in on JB Import Auto for now.

If there is a web site that might serve us better in this regard, let me know.

Hopefully she'll be smart and take it to the track or go hang out at a local event.

If she likes to try to throw it in some corners, FAST holds autocross events at the SPJC.

I have a friend Tom who owns a shop in Tampa that specializes in VW as well.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.
