My Project...Suggestions/advice welcome.

I don't know the tech aspects( I know squat about Nissans) but if I did I'd say work on the power plant first. If you have another vehicle to drive while you work on this one, pull the engine and strengthen up the internals. If it doesn't have one already, get a turbo in there. If it's already boosted, get a better one and a decent controller.
I would say, body wise, just clean it up, and go with a good quality paint in a nice deep color(midnight blue perhaps?). Lose the front license plate bracket, maybe fill in the front Nissan badge. If you have the space and the know-how, maybe change from the rollover headlights to a covered bucket type mounting, kinda like the lights on this car http://www.sterlingsportscars.com/in..._1/IMAG002.JPG
Drop it maybe a few inches, tighten up the suspension and go with some simple alloy wheels(I'd say 6 spokes), and prety much leave it at that. That's just me of course, I'm quite fond of sleepers.

Hehe.. well don't listen to some of these guys.. I used to be a nissan fan, well still am.. just don't own one.. first thing I'd say do is to arrest that cancer.. sand off that surface rust and prime it.. at least it won't rust any further to prevent serious damage.. Is the frame good? If the frame underneath is rusted out.. then you should forget about it... but if not, there is plenty to work on there.. How is it mechanically? I'm assuming it has the stock sohc in it right?
