Default New guy in Daytona

Just thought i'd make an intro post since I posted in the "war stories" section. I found your site by reading the back window of a Mustang before we did a quick run.

Anyways, my name is Mark and I live in Daytona Beach. I'm a little ways away from you all, but w/e. I own an '04 Mustang GT that just came out of hibernation a month ago. I bought the car new in April of '04, put nitrous on it, took the nitrous off, added a Novi 2000 and finally lost a motor due to a bad tune Jan. of '06. The car went down with 33,100.7 miles and well over 250 passes down the drag strip and countless runs on the street.

The quickest the car has ever went was a 11.94 @ 113.10 mph w/ a dry 75 shot, 26x11.5x16 E/T Streets on bullitt wheels, built rear, a tune, air filter, and mufflers. This was with 354 rwhp and 489.9 rwtq.

I never had a good pass with the blower. There was always a problem and then I got into autox. The quickest it went on blower only was 12.0 @ 118 mph w/ 390 rwhp and 415 rwtq.

After losing the motor, I decided to build the car how I wanted no matter how long it took. I sold the blower and basically started over. The car now has:
- Built shortblock by Modular Powerhouse (CP pistons, Manley forged rods, Cobra crank, ARP hardware, etc. Low compression
- Ported heads
- Modular Powerhouse spec turbo cams.
- Built T56 trans.
- '03 Cobra IRS rear w/ 3.73's
- Return style fuel system
- A bunch of misc. stuff here and there. Too much to list really. The car is not stock in any way drivetrain wise minus the intake manifold.

The car is only running on motor right now making 288 rwhp and 300 rwtq on a low compression motor with turbo cams. I will be adding a twin turbo kit here shortly once I get bored with the power (I drove a '95 S-10 for nearly 2 years.....) and I want to put the car down for about a month.

Thanks for reading. Here's some pics of the car as it sits now.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.
