Im not really a whore.
Saw this site a while ago and thought I would join thanks to a fellow galant"r". My names Ian. I just got my galant together after a year. Ended up buying it in pieces and puting it together throughout time. Since I bought it missing alot of stuff for a good deal I decided to buy the best of whatever I had to buy to get it running so it got to be a long process. Had her running about two weeks ago but it had a knocking problem and thought it was the rear balance shaft untill I couldnt move the car anymore. Put it in my buddies garage and pulled the tranny out and due to my suprise the whole clutch assembly and flywheel came off with the tranny still connected to the input shaft. Looks like the previous owner didn't use locktight on the flywheel when he re-installed it so it backed out and cut through the flywheel bolts. That meant the crank was crap so I yanked out the motor. Fortunitally(to me not him) my buddy had wrecked his talon a few weeks earlier so I got his motor. Now she is back together and after a few small issues(killing two alternators and the oil filter housing backing off at high rpm shooting oil all over the engine bay) she is running strong. Right now she is powered by a measly stock 14b but not for long. Should have the new turbo on it within a month and then start clicking off some fast 1/4mph times. Will post pictures when I can find a place to host them. BTW it's number 1955/2000.
i can probably give you future cliff notes. It will run good for a little bit, then not run again, then run stock and probably get sold. Look for more exciting adventures soon.
