What do you get when you give a legendary aeronautical engineer the task of improving the aerodynamic efficiency of a Ferrari 512 BB/LM? This particular example, which is called the 512 BBB, Berlinetta Bialbero Bellancauto, the last B in reference to the team that first competed with it Scuderia Supercar Bellancauto.

Engineer Armando Palanca gave the 512 BBB a longer nose and a lower rear clip than other BB/LMs. But how did it do? It won its class in the 1981 Monza 1000 Km and 6 Hours of Pergusa, as well as the 1982 Mugello 1000 Km. The car also competed at Le Mans twice, in 1981 and 1984.

Fabrizio Violati, who owned Scuderia Supercar Bellancauto, retired the 512 BBB in 1984 and kept it in his collection until his death in 2010. The Ferrari underwent recommissioning from 2022 to 2024, with receipts exceeding €150,000 (about $154,000 USD). Now this piece of Ferrari history is ready for events like the Le Mans Classic and the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion.
