Vintage Motorsport’s 2020 Mar-Apr Issue and 2020 Annual are Now Available

The 20.2 Mar/Apr issue of Vintage Motorsport shows off a Corvette on steroids, the 1977 JPL Racing big-block wide-body “Supervette,” 7 pages on this wretched X-cess tube-framed racer.



For Porsche enthusiasts, we visit the just-opened Brumos Collection in Jacksonville, FL, enough eye candy for everyone who loves fast machines of different eras and many of the Brumos No. 59 racers from over the years to delight.



For our long-running series, “My Favorite Race,” this time it’s Danica Patrick who talks about that impactful day in the 2005 Indy 500 when she led the race and finished 4th—still the highest- placing woman in the “500” to date.

The imminent demise of America’s great sports car race—The 12 Hours of Sebring—was predicted for 1972. However, not only did that thankfully not happen, but the battle between the factory Ferraris and Autodelta’s Alfa Romeo T33/TT/3s fizzled, along with one of the race favorites being disqualified for unsportsmanlike conduct. Wait until you read who it was!



F5000 fans won’t want to miss this great feature, “The Boraxo Saga.” It’s about Brian Redman and the team of Carl Haas, Jim Hall and Franz Weis and how this amazing Lola-Chevrolet won 10 races and two F5000 Championships.

For two-wheeled enthusiasts the word Métisse is magic to many veterans who love to keep it on two, and here you’ll meet the brothers behind the creation of Rickman Motorcycles—Don and Derek Rickman.

In our Vintage Racer Profile series, this time we sit down with Locke de Bretteville, the Classic Sports Racing Group’s president, and he has much to say about what’s happening in vintage racing these days. We also visit Mike Malamut’s impressive and amazing Loft garage—wow!—and take a tour of a busy shop in England, Wren Classics, that specialize in Aston Martin and others.



End of the season vintage racing included SVRA’s Heacock Classic Gold Cup at VIR, VRG’s season finale Turkey Bowl at Summit Point, the Grand National Roadster show in Pomona, CA and HSR’s fantastic Classic 12 Hour at Sebring.



And, of course, we cover the Scottsdale Auction Week and Mecum Kissimmee auction where the Steve McQueen Bullitt Mustang sold for $3.74 million.
