On Aug. 31, 2019 in Darlington, South Carolina, Earnhardt Jr. made this journey in the competitive series where he won championships in 1998 and 1999… On the asphalt of NASCAR’s first superspeedway built in 1949… Driving a paint scheme first carried by his legendary father in 1975. “Time Machine” documents the experience in vivid detail with Earnhardt Jr. offering real-time emotions and unabashed candor.

It captures the influence Earnhardt’s wife and daughter have in his life, especially after a harrowing experience just weeks prior to the race. When it’s all said and done, “Time Machine” asks this: Will a nostalgia-rich trip to the past leave us relishing the good ol’ days, or will it reaffirm we're living our best days now?
