We're at it again. This time turning album covers into reality. Our friends in the band @nickelback wanted to bring the van from their Get Rollin' album cover to life, so that's what we did. We took a pretty beat up '70s @Dodge dually van and brought it back to life so that Nickelback could take it on their upcoming Get Rollin' Tour across the US. We had a lot of fun with this build and can't wait to see the guys in concert on July 14th in Los Angeles.

 

Morning sunshine! This week, was the Route 66 Vanner's drive-in car club. Guess which one was my van? It was just mine for the day, but it was really fun driving in a convoy!


I'm getting use to the weather here. It's cold mountain air in the early morning, but once the sun comes out, it warms up quickly and by mid-moring, we all shed our sweaters like it is summer. I think I am going to like it here. Still cleaning and sorting things like Grandma Greeno's wedding certificate, Berta's painting of Dad in the model T, and my wash board collection that we used in skits and one-act plays in Tampa. What memories!



Other than that, I am doing great. No health problems as I run around with the kids. Babies are wonderful! Until they fill their pants, and then we return them to the parents. Love it here.

The first picture shows the fuel pump cartridge as I removed it. The fuel line was completely goo and I'm sure when it worked was peeing out the side. The next picture shows where somebody re-ran the wires when they did the pump probably a decade ago. The last picture shows my used pump I had laying around and compared to the old pump that had been in there. Van is running and driving today, also check the charging system and got that working we will talk

You might be a hillbilly...

towing a 3rd generation Camaro
on a lifted 4X4 chassis.

 

I presume you saved what you cut out since that window is worth something
and the metal could be used to make a repair on a crashed van.

Here are some pics of the current project. The picture with the brake line and the leaf coming out is the area we were talking about. Because the Arches spring loaded every time I take the axle up it wants to bind.
Another picture is of the differential where it meets the drive shaft this is a area where there are four branches of iron sticking up/out of it that could easily be threaded and we could put a six or a 9-in bar there to run the triangulation system.
Another pic shows the bag location approximately 8 and 1/2 in from the front Leaf mount that way one inch lifts 4 in and of course at the tail my four to six inches of lift should equal about 20.

  Why is the airbag not closer to straight up and down?

  You could always make the inner fender go flat, straight in, and weld it
  to the stock inner metal fender to keep water out of the interior. If the outer-most
  lip would interfere with tire tucking.
  
  Maybe fender flares from another vehicle would allow tucking,
  and look less goofy than raising the orig fender opening.
