January in Central Florida is a wonderful time of year; the sky is bluer, the birds sing more, the breeze blows harder and the car shows are in abundance. It is hard to pick which shows to attend, but with a name like Boggy Bottom, it’s hard to pass this one up…if only for curiosity sake. Accommodating up to 3,500 guests, this 200-acre privately owned paradise is located in the secluded woodlands of the Alafia River basin in southeastern Hillsborough County, just south of Plant City. The entire property is owned and operated by Ralph and Nancy Lupton and their family, which owns Lupton’s Buffet and Catering (circa 1969) in Temple Terrace, Florida.
Hosted by Tampa’s Cianfrocca’s Auto Detailing, it is easy to tell that Jessica is the driving force behind such a successful event. She was part of the welcoming crew along with the largest American flag I’ve ever seen close up. Not only is the drive there relaxing and enjoyable and the ranch’s grounds are well maintained but there is no need to worry about lunch, the BBQ is included in the registration. Trophies, door prizes, vendors and DJ music are part of this event.
Every type of vehicle is welcomed here and, as the photos show, it is extremely varied. The setting is what makes this show unique with the cars located around a landscaped pond and winding stream, surrounded by a thick forest of trees. The Ranch has a football sized wood covered pavilion and is where the BBQ and beer are located. Don’t miss the annual opportunity to enjoy nature and a car show all at the same time.
