I wish a lot of them didn't have most of the car cut off

But what were you shooting with?

If your refering to my pictures majority don't have the cars cut-off. The ones that do I thought looked good that way. I was shooting with a Tamron 70-300 about 95% of the pics I took were with this lens. The other 5% was with the 18-55 VR but those were pics of cars parked.

Keep in mind I took over 2,000 pics, I only uploaded 117. So between lastnight (uploading on the pc) and this morning (going through the folders) I picked what I thought were the best out of bunch to upload. Although there are a lot of good ones, that I could have uploaded online as well. Every car that was drifting I got shots of, although not all made it unto my album online.

One more thing, I've only had this camera for probably around 2 weeks. The 70-300 I got a few days before the event. This is my first time shooting cars in motion, this was my first attendance to any sort of drifting event.

He came out incredibly lucky in that crash. I was one of the first to the crash and they were both perfectly ok. He really got a 1/1000 shot and hit the large tires almost perfectly straight which distributed the impact over the whole front end. Only real damage that wasn't cosmetic was the radiator support. Even the intercooler was straight and ok except that the frame rails sliced gouges into the end tanks preventing it from starting. Some duct tape and improvised pulling with a truck and the car ran and drove.

And don't get me wrong, there was a handful in there that were pretty decent. But honestly, look into "composition" and see how many pictures that are actually out there, and published, etc, that have any bit or part of the car cut out of the picture. Slim to none, why? Because it just doesn't flow or help the picture really "show" anything...Just giving you C&C

Indeed! I was like, "oh dang"! The large tires saved that car. If it were just the poll/post, it would have definetely been a different outcome. Glad both the driver and passenger were okay and that the car itself is actually repairable because it is such a nice car.
