Start to a sick drift car 300zx
I have a 90 ( 90 to 96 body style) has a small block 350 crate motor stuffed in it new clutch w 410 gears. Full ignition and a holley high pro carb. Painted flat black so if I rip a bumper off its easy to fix. Great pwer. Ebrake isnt really used its able to do a poer slide in third at 50 with some clutch work no prob. Fun play toy down side is now w a baby ont the way I may have to sell it good times tho
so you swapped out the v6 just to put in a v8 that makes basically the same power?
Trying to be different, ok i can see where you were going, but trying to be functional, i don't get it.
So you might get a bit more low end torque, which, once the tires break loose, your rpms are up at redline anyway, so that doesn't mean a whole lot.
Can't really see want engine set up you used in the picture, so i could be wrong... but, the only v8 that I would say would be worth the swap would be a ls1 or better, even then, you're spending 5 grand, doing extensive fab work (if you do it properly) and still end up with basically the same power level. Just more torque to play with. Potential is the same, it is just the power curve that is different.
how's that carb actually handle getting sloshed around while drifting. I have yet to see a carb set up work well for drifting. power slides, sure. Drifting, not so much.
What suspension work did you do?
looks like the extra weight from the engine is weighing that front end down really bad.
what turbos are those?
i honestly didn't look close enough to actually id them, but they look like the stock 300zx TT turbos.
Was this a turbo car when it started off?
