i hope i can get running again in time for the event. I have never drifted at a track in an rx7, and i've never been to desoto. hows the atmosphere for the n00bs such as myself? it'd be great to be able to come out and get some pointers.

 

sweet name haha, yea we are good with new drivers as long as they dont come out braggin about how they slide their moms 4runner on the mountain passes of their grandmas driveway. come out and myself or others will be glad to help you out. bring a good tire gauge and some tires and we will get ya going

 

haha and the irony is i daily a 4 runner, can't quite say i've slid it though. hopefully i get my parts in time, it'd be cool to meet everyone. i appreciate the feedback man. any suggestions to find a few sets of cheap tires?

 

make friends with tire shops and get them out of bins, or an employee there and toss him a few bucks to watch for sizes you want... or nowadays they are so stingy you might have to find less legal ways to get them from the bins.

or buy used tires for like 20-30$ a set someplaces i dunno.

i used to do work at TireKingdom and then still had friends there, then bought a few sets to get by for a while.

 

Everyone stop saying that this is the last event... Yes, Desoto is up for sale.... but, that doesn't mean that this will end. We'll keep doing this until it sells and who knows... maybe the new owner will like it too..... and re-pave it.

Not sure how I insulted your photos but look man, I've gone to Desoto plenty of times & have busted my ass to get footage to then turn around and post it up online for free if you are looking for someone to pay for " drift " photos then your in the wrong game.

I'd pay for photos of my wife, my kid, & thats all. If I drifted I wouldn't spend money on photos to show my friends.... What good would that do for me? You need to look at this from both sides of the line, most these kids going to Desoto are broke, never the less willing to pay for useless photos.

I'm sure if they had a extra 20$ to spare for photos they would buy lunch or just bring that many more tires to the event....

You can go to Desoto but don't expect to walk away with a lot of money because I once told you, this business of photos is cut throat, why would I spend 20$ for photos when others are giving them away for free...

You either come because you love to do it or you come to watch, don't come to make a buck off of others whom don't have much money.....

 

I didnt get into photography to make a quick buck. Nor did I ever expect to be at the point where I felt comfortable enough in my work quality to charge. Every event I have shot I have done for free. Even events coming up for my site I am still paying to get in and then I am offering these event companies free coverage from my articles. I got into this to make the person in the photo smile. And until the day my photos suck so bad auto mode can't save me I will keep doing it. If I made 50k right now I wouldn't bother with selling photos. Most of my general life is spent volunteering as much as possible. But there comes a time when you are out of money and need to start offering photos for sale. If someone doesn't want to pay for them, so be it. Photos will still be for sale. Someone down the road will want to buy a photo for $8 of them self.

I dunno, I guess I am one of the ones who wants to hang a photo of me driving a car on the track on their wall. It is not there to impress my guests, it is there to make me smile at what I was doing.
