After the bandits first season, FD made the rule stating that any front-end conversion must be from the same manufacturer.

I.E. S13 coupes can have any nissan front end, including S13 silvia, S14, S15 silvia, blah blah blah.

Pretty gay, and it helps pull attention away from the bandit. Much like the rule that FD made against Enjuku when they had the red tire smoke.

thats a stupid rule, it has no bearing on competition or performance of the car, they're both purely cosmetic, a front end is a goddamn front end, and tires are tires, i fail to see how different color smoke from the exact same tires between 2 competitors would change ANYTHING competitively speaking...whatever

It wasnt against red tire smoke as it was cheater compounds that are way stickier than regular compounds.

the smoke was cool, but the fact that they were one off tires and everyone knew it wasnt, the color of the smoke wasnt the reason those tires were banned.

the Maxxis Z1 Drift is under the same scrutiny right now, however Maxxis actually has production units available, unlike khumo who is just now releasing MX-C and ASX-C to the public, which is why back in 2005, they were banned.

now they arent a series sponsor so anything khumo is illegal.

I thought that Khumo made like, 5000 available to the public for retarded prices so they could use them in competition?

I remember the reason being they attracted too much attention to the enjuku cars, and might cause favoritism from the judges.

I could be wrong, and we both might be right. Who knows, it's all political bullshit in that series anyway.
