so what did we learn?
I read 15 pages of crap pertaining to the drift forum. The only thing I found remotely helpful was the cat talk. I really dont want a cat. Thank you for showing how lame cats are.

well Zate, the forum is great. But I am a noob to the whole sliding thing, and I couldnt get anywhere with anyone in the forum before. 15 pages of whinning and people asking you to bans others....useless just like it used to be. If you want it to be better, then show me. Until then, cats sucks.

I learned that ray has been begging for help with this forum for at least 6 months(oh wait I read that some place else)... and just now found an admin that is willing to do it.
thanks zate... I'm sure its a pain to deal with but thank you for doing your job. (and one that no one else cared enough to even look into, untill you started it)
oh and as for the 15 page thread... I learned that I wasn't the only one that found the random offtopicness funny and it would be nice to keep the funny and add some useful shit... now how to do that is a whole other thing.

My old policy to deal with issues was remove them. Ban the account, shut down the forum and move on. Ban anyone who gets upset about it, and anyone who decides to use that as an excuse to be a problem child.
That would leave me with a bunch of unhappy drifters who would probably wander into other parts of the site and make me ban them for venting their frustration.
So we will try a little selective surgery to remove the problems, and see how that goes. Its gonna take a little time and to be really honest its only going to be successful when you guys step up and own the forum and take some pride in it.
the most successful forums on TR are that way because they have an identity, they take pride in their forum and generally they arent a bunch of unwelcoming-to-newbies pricks. I am hoping this forum and its people get like that.
Only time will tell
