I find myself having to defend why this forum is still here.

I like drifting, its fun to watch and fun to do. It takes a crap load of skill, impressive knowledge of your car and alot of practice to be really good at it and as such it most certainly qualifies as a motorsport, same way drag racing and autoX qualify.

That makes it something we want on TR. TR is about the racers, all kinds, all ages, all types of cars.

What escapes me is why does this forum have such a stigma, or bad name ? Why is it so drama filled ?

I notice alot of the people who are arguing are from differnt local shops, is it a shop turf thing that spills over?

Is it the hardcore/semi prof guys vs the weekend drifters?

The hardcore "drifting is a lifestyle" guys vs "OMGZ I'M TEH SID3WAYZ!" guys?

Explain to me why we need this forum, I think we do but this forum isnt here for me, its here for you guys. Tell me whats not working aobut it and what you'd change if you could ?

Much like Edward Norton applies " the formula " to manufacturer at fault auto crashes in "Fight Club" , you can apply a similar formula to a forum to see exactly what level of maturity and quality of posts will arise from it.

The keyword here is intellectual.

You can't really ask much in the form of 'quality' from a forum where the average poster is 18 years old, wants to modify and drift his car before repairing it and restoring it's condition, and lacks the ability to type out complete thoughts with proper grammar.

I run a drifting forum called 'froridafail' (if taka were to say it ), and there I just place post limits on people that seem to be nuisances, so they learn to make their posts count, or be banned. It works pretty well, actually.

 

My guess is that the lack of events and organizers has left us nothing better to do. Is not like we can come here and talk about last week practice and how to improve it for next week. Illegal drifting cant be talked about. Otherwise the spots will get raided. I believe we need some mature people with money to help us set up some serious events. Give us something to talk about. I have a car to drift with suspension and a whole bunch of tires. And also a bunch of friends that are in the position but no place to drift. Alot of people say that Florida fail in the drift scene but we cant worry about florida we have to worry about our own town. For example, im in Tampa and i have not seen a single drifting event here. NONE! Orlando has done ok on their drifting scene, they got their local speedway for that.

 

Drifting is stupid. Drifters are jacktards.

No solution, just got to get used to it.

there is no drifting to be talked about in the drift fourm... so you get what we have here. a bunch of guys that mostly know eachother and clown in "their" forum....


there is a tech side of this for the smart people(that matt was talking about) this is to fuck off and have fun...since we can't do it at any real events.


I think the admins have a stick up their asses when it comes to this forum.... let it fucking be.


and zate if any of the bs you typed above was true, you would already know these answers... watching drift videos and saying you enjoying it are two different things.


I vote to leave it offtopic as it is, or just pull the plug on the whole thing.... and what do you guys care for anyways? its active like this, so you can make money off google by showing them daily post counts.

I guess I'll have to elaborate an answer.

If you want to put a stop to the BS on this forum, here is what you'll have to do:

1. Ban: Marksaccord, Mikespeed, and any other tard that brings nonsense to this forum. Neither Mike nor Mark are allowed back till they've bedded a woman (95% of the problem to begin with).

2. Accept that this forum will be filled with morons, because most have moved over to other sites that currently do not have this problem (hint: enable post limits for certain users)

3. Get rid of the moderators that do not know anything about drifting and cry when I fight back at these dumbasses in the best way I know how...using whit.

this specific forum will never be successful as long as its expected to be mature. guess what, its not. i dont see what the real problem is anyways, its a bunch of nerds fighting one another. ever stop and watch a fight between two nerds, pretty funny if you ask me.
