I hate to be negative especially on local guys, some of whom I know personally. But, this kind of thing always seems to happen. Please keep in mind that some of what I said is here-say and not supported by any evidence.

Here is what I posted on TR on 03/24:

Wait wait wait, driftfest is involved? I'm not going to waste my time coming down then. The first driftfest was up here and it sucked ass. The second one that they attempted to throw didn't event happen. They took everyone's money for pre-registration and then cancelled the event due to "snow". Funny thing was, they did this 3 full weeks before the event was supposed to happen. On top of that they took their time paying everyone back. From what I hear there are still a few people that haven't received their refund.

Here is what I heard happened:

The organizers never paid the track fees from the first driftfest. Then they fabricated a second event in order to make even more money, took money from local drifters to organize more "events" in places like las vegas and Florida.

I don't know if it's true but it makes alot more sense to me.

I suggest to everyone that you use caution when dealing with them. Driftfest has such a bad reputation here that they can't even hold events in their hometown.

Here are a few threads from a local forum concerning the "cancelled" event:
