JR gittin wins D1GP
just incase no one followed the jp vs USA this last weekend, JR won, being the 1st american to win a D1 event, and made $5k from D1.
whoever says americans arent up to par with JP for drifting yet, has been proven wrong
all in a mustang too

hrmm... in all the d1 clips and whatnot I have come across, it seems like the d1 drivers carry a lot more speed and whatnot, and just seem generally a level above the FD drivers... I saw hubinette get his ass handed to him in the team orange car... ahh but I haven't seen very recent FD vids or anything... so very could happen haha...

Vaughn pretty much earned it, but Sakuma honestly beat him in the round that was determined to be 'even' and which led to the 'one more time'. In the sudden death battle Vaughn definitely beat Sakuma.
I think the D1 judges honestly tilt the tables toward the American drivers, but after this year it's really not necessary. Most of the Japanese drivers still are better but have been driving longer so it's to be expected.
At last years USA vs Japan, the only American who proceeded far and deserved it was Forsberg, I was there and saw it all in person.
