Ok I bought an LSD on impulse...yea I know...well This guy got two one for himself and one to sell. This is off an "S15" ...i have a very lack of knowledge on LSD's....if someone can tell me which I have? Jeff narrowed it down and just needed pictures to tell me which one it is, perhaps someone else can tell me which one i have exactly until he logs on. It is in extremely good condition, i got it for 220.00. I checked for cracks and checked the rings to see if I can feel any wear and tear but the whole thing is smooooooooooooooooth. The person I bought it from said he installed the whole thing with out any other parts...I might need a shaft?

S15 is hicas not vlsd or clutch pack.

 

no s15 lsd is a helical type, like a tosen, or later model miata diff. alot better than crappy vlsd, but not sure if it willwork unless you have the s15 driveshaft and tranny.

 

spec r's have a helical

spec s and base have a piece of shit vlsd

 

hicas means 4 wheel steering, not a style of diff. hicas 240's have vlsd's

 

So by the pictures you can tell it's a VLSD? ...or basically ask the person who I bought it from if it's a spec s or spec r?
