Okay....I can powerslide, and after the last event, I figured out e-braking. But now.....

What is the proper clutch kick technique? and when would you use it (ie. Turn in, or midturn).

I attempted what I think was a clutch kick this morning, but it wasn't smooth, but rather abrupt. Looking for tips

I more of a feint guy, but I wanted to try clutch kick at dday 4 so here was what I learned. Hevey clutch kick for larger corners. Such as the first one. here.
Accerate to top of second gear, turn in slightly clutch kick harder than bruce lee, countersteer, However for the rest of the corners, clutch kick kinda really sucks, and Ebrake is optimal. Since I didnt have a working ebrake I tried clutch kicking the rest with dismel results, but on the slower corners, only a slight clutch kick is needed to get the rear wheels spinning, assuming your clutch is in good shape.

 

watch some option videos. most of them have the in car feet cam. that will let you know exactly what you need to do for the most part.

i would use a clutch kick when the car needs a clutch kick. it's kind of hard to explain, and it depends on everything else. it depends on the setup of the car. a good car will get upset and lose traction if you couple a weight shift with a clutch kick. from there you control it all and make it happen, apply throttle as necessarry.

 

The only places I need a clutch kick at Ocala are the two back to back hairpins. You have to be moving at such a slow speed through those corners because they are so tight that coming out of the corner the car would start to bog down, so when you feel the tires aren't spinning enough to keep your slide going, slightly clutch kick it to get the rev's up and the tires really spinning. You'll notice it's much less abrupt then doing it on the entrance of the turn which will really upset the car in a hurry.

 

I had the same problem as Jay.

I only use clutch kick when I don't have enough momentum to maintain a slide.

simply put, its when your revs need to be higher then they are.
that can be any time, entrance, mid drift, or exit.

 

yeah I was going to say its just like a bottle of "concentrated wheelspin" with a message saying "Apply to lacking area"

guess what I was really looking for was this:

"You enter a corner and push in the e-brake while reving the motor to XXXX RPM's, and then quickly letting off the clutch with the gas still depressed...."

But what RPM? Def not 6500.....is there a sweet spot on a SR?
