I didn't hear bill saying stuff, but thats one reason I'm having second thoughts about entering a practice. I'm really bad, and I have this thing about confrontation, I don't even like ordering pizza, because I have to talk to the people.I'm sure by the time the next practice is here I'll be on Prozac, so I don't think anything will bother me so if I catch on fire or something, you guys better put me out because I probably won't bother to stop drop and roll.

If someone is feeling "self concious" about their abilities,,,, then they are homo and dont deserve to drive...

Hey dude, I was like that all through high school, etc. I kept having anxiety attacks. Car events were actually the things that got me out of my severe anxiety with crowds and confrontation. I attended a TR track night and an auto-x event and participated. I am always nervous, but I've noticed I'm progressively getting better with nervousness. I am losing the nervousness sooner (after first lap), rather than at the end of the day or never.

Just give it a try. I know it's hard with our personalities to stop caring about what people say, but I promise you it happens eventually. The feeling of drifting itself is worth it. I promise!!

boxing is to auto-x as pro-wrestling is to drifting

boxing is skill, is scored, and is more of a modest sport. thats what auto-x is

pro-wrestling is not scored, its for show, and is judged mainly by the audience. same with drifting.

while it may intimidate, or make other drivers a little offset by the attitude, it does get the crowd involved, and even though i do this to become a better driver, i always want to please the crowd. its more than a perfect line, correct angle...its also showmanship, smoke shows, graphics, engine sounds, etc. once u get good, then u can start having a blast with it...thats what bill does, what i try to do, and what some of the others do.

some of the best pro-drifters are the cockiest most showoff asses around...but they're good enough to act that way. you dont get remembered by acting modest.

Dude STFU. These events are practices for people to try and improve on something that they love to do, or would love to learn how to do. Most people are a little gunshy when learning to do something, especially when there are great concequences involved when you make mistakes. Being in that state of mind, and hearing derrogatory comments will further inhibit them from feeling more comfortable out there, thus hindering the sports growth.

As for the rest of the comments, I can see where your coming from. I just have a difference of opinion, and guess what? That doesn't make us enemies. I very much look forward to seeing all of you guys, and girls out at the practices and competitions.

Blowing the horn and shaking fists on track gets the crowd pumped and I am all for that stuff.
However, the particular outburst I refferred to was done in the drivers pit area, far from the crowd.
