buying a 240 any advice?
I finally have my finances in a position where I can afford to buy a decent 240...any advice? I have about 2700 to spend are there any advantages to buying the later models such as the 90-93's? The one I am looking at is a 93...

It's a timing chain, not belt.
The 91+ are DOHC, that's good. The whole 91' cam thing is kinda insignificant I believe.
The one I got for 3500 had 95K, Perfect interior, good exterior, base model, good tires, cold A/C, good clutch, no problems.
Good Luck to you, and don't forget to save some of that to put some nice parts on your S13.

I got my 93 SE coupe for $1300 with a seized motor, auto tragic, and 107k on the clock. The paint was awesome and the body was very clean. Interior was better than average and had a working HUD. I traded a blown redtop longblock for a 96 motor and tranny with new clutch, and I was in business. The down sides were the horrible tires, dead compressor, and 2 slightly bent rims.
The ones to look for are 91+ for their better motors. The sub $2k ones are out there, you just have to wait. I looked every day for 2 monthes for mine. If you can turn wrenches, you can get better deals. Check the frame for dents and scars. Check the body work for repairs. Check rust in the battery tray, under the brake booster, by the door hinges, and under the mirrors. Look under the motor for leaks. Most everything can be fixed for cheap. Of course common sense tells you to test drive it. It'll probably be very squishy, but make sure it doesn't shake too much and steers well.
That's about it.
