I don't see why it wouldn't be. You don't see very many, the last one I saw 4sale was A/T and I've only seen like 8 or so in my whole life.
But, the FR platform, turbo engine, with the advanced for it's day FMIC look pretty good on paper. Although I don't have a clue about parts availablity for suspension, but I know they sell go fast parts.

it's prob good drift car. but good luck finding drift parts. I think most of starion guys are into races.

i think the starion would make a good drift car. i drifted Joey's starion before he sold it and it did ok. you just need to fix all the stupid DSM wiring problems!!!! but it is a capable chassis, just limited on your after market support. i would do a conquest with a supra motor or something like that.
