How many Tampa Folk will be "invited"?
I honestly didn't want to wreck my street car, but towards the end of Sunday, I was getting a bit more ballsy with the entry speed.
Primus is a nice place but I feel I really can't progress much further on that course. It's almost Gymkhana. If we could find a venue that is all 2nd and 3rd gear, that would be killer. The more advanced drivers I am sure could still cope with even a KA as long as speeds are kept up, but 250-300hp is prolly needed to really drift a course like that.
BTW in case anyone thinks I have huge power, I'm prolly making like 170 rwhp in a 3100lb car.
-Sean
PS I think I did good this weekend, and wish I had a better setup / more power, but I was still definitely humbled by the course and watching the pros.

Best part of the day, though, wass when this kid thought that by watching good people drift all day, he was magically endowed with the power to drift. After his failed drift attempt, well this visual will help.

Even Though no one was "invited" I'd like to look at it this way.
A little over one year ago they held the first drift showoff at irwindale speedway - I was there. At that event there were local drivers and the pros just like we had here. As a whole the drifting I saw from the locals was WAY better here than it was at the event in california. A year later many of those locals are now considered pro - I'd expect nothing less will happen here!
