Default need help for local TV program

I can't really say I am a drifting fan...it's really never been my thing, but I can appreciate the skills of the drivers and the enthusiasm of it's fans. And, frankly anything automotive interests me. It's hard to ignore the impact that drifting has had on our automotive culture.

This brings me to my next question. I am hoping you fans and participants and fellow TR members can help me.

Currently, I am producing/shooting/ editing for a local TV program. Without going into too much detail, we would like to do a positive story on drifting and it's growing numbers of fans in the Bay area. This could lead to some good positive exposure for any organizations that support drifting events. I don't know exactly where and to whom I should turn to in order to get the best info. Any leads that could point me in the right direction would be great; email addresses, local organizations, websites, names, numbers, etc would be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Ben

yeah def go to DDay II, in sarasota. you will see all of the local and state wide talent there. you could probably get enough footage to do a 3 segment show. you know one of those to be continued things.

look at the top of this forum in the sticky section and you will find all of the information needed for the upcoming event. i strongly recommend that you go to this. it will be perfect for the show. and its all legal, which most if not all of us are only into now.

Thanks for the info...keep it coming. I will check into the dday in Sarasota. Is there anyone here that will be participating in dday that might want to be in this package? I'd like to do a series on this story and maybe follow a couple of drivers exploits. In addition, any good footage shot that was from any legal sanctioned drift event and was shot with a digital video camera that any one could provide would be greatly appreciated. I can make a copy of the tape and return the original to you and your name would go in the credits. The show is just getting started and is completely funded by my personal bank account as of right now, but I can garuntee at least VHS copies of the show to any people that provide any useable footage for me.
I know this sounds like BS to some of you, but this is a serious venture. I am hoping to get something on the air no later than August.
Thanks for your help,
-Ben

not to be cynical, but didn't someone get caught up like this for a news story about street racing only to find out it was a big negative spin? Some old people might have to gather the children around and tell that story again. That video is still on the tampa trib website!

To be helpful, you might contact some of the dday2 sponsors. Hell, mattback is quoted in "Makes and Models" magazine this month on coverage from last dday. If there's anyone that would like some positive coverage, it's the sponsors!
