Has Drifting topped out? is there any FARTHER to go?
In Eric's letter to Tony, he mentioned D1 becoming similar to WWF, and I agree.
I am beginning to think that this is the only possible answer becasue we are beginning to reach the end of creativity in drifting.. What else can we possibly do? Now that drivers can encompass entire race circuts sideways for multiple laps, do we now have to test that endurance with distance drifting (or time drifting)? Do we need to add jumps or other potential hazardous obstacles to make it more "Crowd pleasing" (i certainly hope not) ? Will americanization really turn it into a shit talking match similar to WWF?
I dunno guys, I can understand and enjoy drifting at the state level with you guys here on TR and in the florida level, we have a long way to go and things to learn. But I see drifting capping off somewhere soon in the professional arena, as there is no "goal".. Eventually we will reach the limit of human capacity (I'm thinking we are quite close) and what else is there to do?

on a more serious note, i don't think drifting has topped out yet. there is almost always room for innovation. unfortunately work has drained the will to explain myself.
even if it has topped out, i think it will be around a long time because of the following it is accumulating right now. i mean, look at nascar, all they do is drive in circles and as far as i know they always have but they seem to draw more & more fans each year.
short & sweet: possibly room for innovation, but will definitely be around a long time.

There isnt even a US mag for drifting yet, let alone they have so many more cars to chose from lol. I mean we are just begining to see US Drift Pro's. There arent many (I dont know of any) US drivers in the D1.

I'm not talking about the local scene, its got a long way to go. but I'm talking about the TOP LEVELS of drifting..
CAN THEY DO MORE...
I really dont think there are many more ways to slide a car than what is done in D1, i'm thinking they are going to run out of ideas soon..

I dearly hope that it doesn't turn into a wwf type of thing. I hate the WWF, all it is a shit talking, and everything is like coriographed. I think that tire compounds will get softer, and engines will start making more horespower, so the drift, in turn could be faster. That's the way it seems to be in NASCAR. Though I doubt that it will "top off" here for a long time... most people don't even know what drifting is. Well there will always be us to keep it alive in the extremely vague and unfortunate situation that it does start dieing. drift on ^_^
