Miami Sl!de Experience
I think as the locals learn more about these events, and they are promoted better, they will get more and more crowds and participants. Also, like someone else said, there isn't a huge drift sub-culture yet down here in South Florida. Straight roads lead to 1/4 mile junkies more than drifters. Everybody down here is into drag racing (except the small handfull of us) but hopefully we can get more people into this. Sunrise City Rider... get to work.
I hope you all had fun at my house on Saturday nite for the BBQ. That was the closest thing to a party I have had in the 3 months I have lived there so it was cool. Hope to see you all down here again soon for more drifting and general mayhem.
Kyle, next time we will hit that place for sure!

wow... you guys really are a bunch of sad whiners!
I ran the event in Miami because I had some people ask me to do it. I will run an event *ANYWHERE* as long as someone wants me to. I get proposals from all over the country. Kids are like "Yo please run an event in xxx!"
I make the same reply to everyone:
Find me a venue, and I will do the rest of the work
Well, if any of you were paying any attention, you would know that we lost the SPC site because they didn't understand that drifting meant drifting even after having it explained to them. Mattback, Kyle, and the other people with a clue over at SS are doing their best to get things sorted out.
You ninnies all act like we just up and "left" Tampa. So I'm not allowed to run events anywhere else? I have people driving 8+ hours to come to Drift Out Wednesday once a month, and that sh!t is on a WEDNESDAY NIGHT. People skip work and work overtime and stuff to make it out there. Do any of them complain? Not a one. Do they say stuff like "wah wah, all the good drifters are here, you should come run events here instead."
Well, the first Drift Out Wednesday was only 15 drivers and even less spectators than Miami. Life sucks, get a helmet.
DGTrials is in this for the LONG HAUL. You guys up there in Tampa all act like you should be going to HyperFests or something. You do one event and it does what it does, the next one is bigger, and the one after that is bigger yet. The potential for any metro area is equivalent -- take a lot of people in a small space and the odds are that they will find out about this thing and come out sooner or later.
You guys are all acting as if Miami's poor turnout means that DG should just abandon it all together and just run events in Tampa. With those kind of attitudes I'd rather not run any more events in Tampa.
This whole DG thing is about NOT being selfish. It's about being SELFLESS. We bust our asses and lose sleep and spend money out of our own pockets to help other people get to do something that we all enjoy doing. And then once in a while I get to well up with pride when someone says something like "Well, there may be other events, but I want to go to DG ones because you guys rock out with your cock out." And that one person is enough to make every drop of blood, sweat, and tears worthwhile.
Fortunately, there are a few souls in Tampa who feel that way, and I love you dearly for it, and you are the ones who are going to be my diehard bulletproof crew that I know I can count on.
All you other guys, I dunno man. You can go back to doing car shows or whatever the "cool" thing is to do now, because you obviously aren't into this enough to want to support it or understand that there is a much larger world out there than your stupid little magic-blacktop parking lot.

damn, i thought the turnout in Miami was better than hear. i thought both events rocked out and i tell ya that trip down to miami was all good and made soom new friends too. i have a class A CDL so if you guys need a driver for the equipment truck just give me a call. hell i used to drive 1000miles a day so a trip to miami isn't shit. and it seems that the track down there is more recptive to our needs now anyway so tampa's down until we go out and find a new spot. SPJC, what a bunch of fags!!! eehhehehe no driftying allowed. next.
