actually if by asking for an '86' alone in the US would constitue an SR-5 or GT-S as they both use the 'ae86' platform (which is different then Japan). Its simple, you live in the US, ask for a GT-S.

 

found my corolla finally should be bringin it home soon.

 

All Corolla's in US are teh AE86 chassis smae number of spot welds etc . Diference comes in braking , differential and Engine setup .


There was a Red 86 GT-S Hatch down 41 past Dale Mabry about 2 weeks ago wanted 2200 on it had a set up 14X7 Supra's and PR falg on the back window ....

Dunno if its still there . Just do an SR5 GTS Conversion atleast that way you can start off with a cleaner chassis and knwo what your getting into . Decent SR5 sheels with no rust etc usually go for 300 or less . add 200 for Zenki/Kouki LSD rear end with rear brakes , say another 3-4hundo for a Nice bluehat w/ good T-50 .

Your looking at about 1G for that .

Then I would also recomend new rotors pads , new starter , clutch , SS Brake lines since they are only like 90 $'s now and come with the clutch and rear diff line , T3 Short shifter , Some type of spring and shock setup considering your chassis probally has PR springs with blown struts or stock springs with blown struts .

Finding a perfect example isnt gonna be possible without spending good cash . Just build your own and you'll come out on top .

Just dont sell all your crap before you even finish the project adn wish you had another now .
