Rhys Millen and Pontiac.
Veteran rally driver and tuner Rhys Millen announced Tuesday that he'll be driving a 2004 Pontiac GTO in the D1 Grand Prix. The General Motors rear-driver, a joint project by Pontiac and Rhys Millen Racing, will be motivated by a 5.7-liter LS1 V-8 tweaked to the tune of 400 horsepower. Drift-spec suspension pieces will work to keep meaty Yokohama AVS tires (225/40R-18 front and 265/R35-18 rear) firmly planted on Irwindale Speedway's track for the Feb. 28 showdown between Japanese and American talent.
