Talking SS and DGTrials...

Okay....I'll be there (not driving though). As I already mentioned to Kyle, I would like to help out (tech, or something like that).

Anyways, I was reading the "rules" and "tech" stuff, and was curious about these items:

A) Wheels and Tires
1) Tires must have tread as intended per the design and not show any damage or undue wear
2) Tire brand, model, and size must be the same per axle.

While I applaud the effort, don't these rules make it expensive? You have to run 4 "like" tires? Just curious about your view.

1) as intended per the design. whats that supposed to mean. am i supposed to run out and get some advans (most arent DOT approved) or can i just use the dayton rain tires that are on there now.

2) so i can have to pair of different tires as long as the 2 front are the same and the 2 rear are the same?

where are the rules and tech stuff. i want to read and start preparing now.

I would wait until SS releases there version of the Tech Check. I've reviewed the current tech inspection list, and those were the only 2 items that I found that might cause a problem. The only reason I even cared (remember, I have no car to drift!) is that I will hopefully be a TECH INSPECTOR.

I'm sure SS will post the tech info as soon as they are ready!

damn...erik's driving down for this?

...oh, and my obligatory gripe about whatever is the tires requirements for tech, where did that come from? I got an extra pair I was gonna throw on the rear, they aren't the same as what's on the front though.
