I got into it because of mattback and garage battle. I remember a few years ago, a little before we were banned from TR, the 3 of us would ride around looking for "race spots" and every where we went matt was like, "oh, that corner would be fun to drift." or, "oooo, that looks like a cool drift spot." and even, "Hey, that field right there, that's my drift field." and then i obsevered/spectated for a while as people got cars that were more suited for the sport. I never thought what we did for fun on a rainy day(or even a dry one if we had enough hoses) back then would become so trendy now.

my old woody styled jeep grand cherokee
that car had rwd/awd setup at the flip of the switch
lowered 3 inches due to bad shocks
weight distribution was good
and switching it from awd to rwd in the middle of turns was the shit
sent that bitch sideways like the cake
it was fun
then my volvo turbo wagon that liked to swing
then my grand marquis with a stang swap
but now im an ff ass dragger (be gentle)
still mad props to all drifters

I really dont drift but i always wanted to get into diffrent stuff like that. I used to ride my bike and well after i got my license i always wanted do do 360's in a car. I remember one time on TV show i saw a guy do a 180 into a parking spot doing about 60 with a Ford Escort. I would definitly like to learn to "Drift" and one day i will learn it. But for now get my car put together.
