Weather question for you guru track guys
Ok now that is getting cooler and the humidity is getting lower aswell I have a question. I mostly run in the am on a saturday(who doesn't right?
) But since the air would be cooler(denser) at night would it be better to run at night than morning? I know the humidity might be more at night but wouldn't a lower temp(again more air molecules) be more beneficial even though humidity might be a few %'s higher?
- Looking forward to hear from the fast guys!
Derek, The Doc, Al, Joe etc. Thanks. -Mark

All depends on the night (i know, thank you captain obvious right?
)
I honestly think it's a wash (hotter/dryer air vs cooler/wetter air)..
I would think that the dryer air would be better, so I'd go with morning, but just an opinion...
Besides you can tune it out either way with timing and fuel...
Good topic though..

i would personally say in the evenings..ive done both morning and and evening and got better numbers in the eveninig...with our weather its hard to have 2 days exactly the same..but cooler wetter air made a gaining difference in my times
I have always gotten my best times sat mornig at the track.so ya know i would say day time.I always get best times around 1-2 PM.but i dunno maybe i'm crazy

Mark got your answer!
Tonights track temps with humidity corrected to DA.The lower the DA the faster you run thus the closer your corrected times are to your actual times.
6pm 69* 59%hum. DA 859ft
7pm 66* 66%hum. DA 667ft
8pm 63* 71%hum. DA 466ft
9pm 63* 73%hum. DA 400ft
10pm 62* 75%hum. DA 405ft
Take it for what its worth.
Last time I ran my car it was:
6pm 84* 62%hum. DA 1888ft

One other factor plays into density altitude besides ambiant temp, and humidity, you also have berometric pressure, The higher the better, ideal weather would be low temps, low humiditys and high bero psi. Then another veriable, track preperation....can't wait for janurary!!!
