Default 7.25in clutch questions.

there was a guy that worked at bay city clutch that had the hook up on kevlar discs that were the same thickness as the centered metalic discs used in the tripple plate clutch's. well i went by there awhile back and he no longer works there. does any one know where to get kevlar discs for these clutches? also what about the cheapest place local for the cermetalic discs? and would anyone happen to have a 4 disc clutch cover? thanks for the help.

william

This seems to be a real slow forum... Have you tried googling, or going on road race specific forums for an answer?? You may have better luck TBH.

yes ive googled. i found organic discs. and the company that makes them sells a 4 disc clutch cover that can be used to run 4 disc metalic or 3 disc organic/cermetalic discs as they are thicker. i know someone makes the kevlar ones as the clutch shop i use has 2 of the discs on the wall. but the owner doesnt know where they got them to get more. i need 3 of them. ill try joining a circle track forum and see if anyone there knows but figured someone here would know or they would know where the guy i mentioned is now working. guy was a genius with clutches. tall skinny dude. worked at bay city clutch/tampa bay clutch for years.

Did you even ask Jimmy at Bay City? He owns the place and does know quite a bit about racing clutches and clutches in general.

Are you looking for the cover and disks?? I may have a set laying at the shop...I'll check Monday.

yes i did(the guy i talked to was a shorter guy with dark hair and said he owned the place). i went in there personally. he has 2 of the kevlar discs im talking about haning on the wall. they take the 6 bolt quarter master center hubs. he said he cant get any more of those discs. he told me "my supplier dried up" but the tall skinny guy that used to work there is the one that knew where to get everything from my experience with him. guy could always find what was needed to build the custom clutch setups i was trying to do for street cars etc... but he doesnt work there anymore. idk if he quit or they had to lay him off due to the economy or what.

and i have a tripple plate clutch already. its metalic. im wanting to run tripple kevlar discs or twin cermetalic discs. if you have a cermetalic setup that would be great. cant run the metalic on the street.

I have a complete 7.25" clutch but I just checked the discs and they are fully metallic.

As far as Bay City goes, I was talking to Jimmy a couple months ago and he told me that he had to lay everyone off...It's only him and his wife there now. Seems too many local business are going this way now.
