Default Ran the R/T at the track!

Well...I finally ran the R/T at the track!

But, I didnt run it in the same configuration as I dynoed 301 hp / 388 ft lb as I was trying out a new test ECU. Thus, the track runs were at a steady 13 psi boost, which equates to about 260 hp / 270 ft lb on any dyno runs Ive made with this car at that boost level on John's dyno.

Still, the car ran pretty damn well!

At 13 psi boost on M&H 23's, it ran a 13.434@104.76 with a lousy 2.152 60 ft . I tried leaving the line harder, but was getting the most severe wheel hop Ive ever had. No joke....it hopped so badly that the rear view mirror fell off! So, no jokes about my poor 60 fts....which are admittedly on par with a good street tire launch. EGTs were right about 1700 F.....juuuuust right!

Attached is my timeslip.

Heres a link to a couple of my track runs on video. One was solo and in the other I got my @ss handed to me by an LS1.

Tell me about it....this "family truckster" suspension is not exactly applicable to drag race type starts.

Its too bad I was doing the ECU test and couldnt run my stock ECU today. If so, I could have put the car back to the way we dynoed it last week and easily run 12's on the puny stock turbo in a 3200 lb lange barge

Very nice!!! You need to add an Omni to your car inventory though.

I figured out the problem last night!

I climbed under the car and checked all the engine mounts. The rear bobble strut was completely loose! The bolt that holds it to the frame was still there, but the nut was just varely on. THus, the bolt was sliding all over the place and the strut was free to move as it wished! BAH! Thats why the car wheel hopped so badly and wouldnt hook up!
