Carlos had a salary of $39 million in 2024, an increase of 59%. This made him the highest paid CEO among traditional car manufacturers. Meanwhile, Dodge sales had decreased by 29% last year.
He also came up with the brilliant idea of offering the new Challenger and Charger as EV's (WTF?!), while throwing away 2 of the most prominent muscle car platforms over the last 2 decades. In addition, pushing hard to get rid of the Hemi engine altogether.
The good news is that he stepped down. Also, the fact that certain 2025 Dodge, Ram & Jeep platforms still feature the Hemi engine, gives us hope. However, the future of the company is bleak. We would love to hear your thoughts on this..

Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares Resigns
After destroying an American icon that has been around for 125 years, Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares finally steps down. Stellantis purchased Dodge in 2021. After less than 4 years of not listening to their primary demographic of American Muscle enthusiasts, they have practically ruined what used to be one of the greatest car companies in the US.Carlos had a salary of $39 million in 2024, an increase of 59%.
