Ditto...Can't duplicate in neutral....even if reving....I can't pin point where...Has to be related to the hard acceleration just seconds before the whistling..Quite certain

It will be a "can't duplicate" at the Dealer service dept....and they won't over-time a quick test drive,,,so I haven't bothered to go that way...yet...and think the sound is just like a bad weather seal or a window not fully closed...But I know [and sure you as well know]....it's not...Hope we're not the only two to ever have had this whistle..

 

 

When you are sitting still, run the windows down and then all the way up.
Bump the up switch a couple times more.

I haven't had the whistle, but there was briefly a concussion feeling.
It was related to taking the p-side front window down while in motion.

I lowered the rear glass, raised the front, then raised the rear.
There is a different air flow over the front and rear windows.
The concussion feeling did not return.

But that may not be your problem.

 

I have hopefully good news for you! I took it in for an oil change, tire rotation, and they took it out for a drive to try and find the whistle.

They currently believe that the whistle was caused by the one of the front tires being “chopped,” which I assume means the tread was slightly messed up. I do have the original factory tires that are extremely soft, so I would believe it. They moved the tires to the rear and it no longer made the noise.

I have not had any time to verify it’s gone, but they didn’t hear the noise when they drove it again. Since tire rotations are cheap, it would be a great place to start! Especially since the sounds you’ve described are exactly what I’d been hearing.

To the poster above, that’s a good suggestion! I think I had put the windows up and down to test it, but now I’m doubting it. That’s a good thing to try as well! Thanks!

 

This may be the best tip....Even thou, the whistle sound only came about after a hard acceleration , and vehicle was not stopped, slowed down, nor any doors or windows opened and reclosed...As I'm sure the OP would say Ditto...However, my further investigating on my car, I cruised up to speed, then paddle shifted to lower gears, listening carefully to whistle sound...the eng RPM went up, but the whistle sound remained "constant"...Sooo, It does seem to be only related to vehicle speed...a vacuum leak could maybe ruled out ?...Maybe the front fender seals come loose when vehicle hits a higher speed..In my case...perhaps 80 mph....But would think other members woulda encountered this also...It is strange , that he and myself have both encountered this "immediately" after the hard run ... I am concerned it may be a sound from the Trans....Hope not...! Sorry.. Not trying to Hi jack thread..and still waiting to hear about his trip to his dealer soon...
As for Forumr post...i don;t understand how scalloped tire could suddenly make a sound after fast drive...and be silent prior...at 40 mpg in my case..Scalloped tread has caused a buffeting [concussion] sorta pulsating sound ...Not a whistle...in past vehicles I've owned..!

I'll con't to watch your thread ...to learn whether your whistle sound did indeed go away after tire rotation..!!
