No dash instrument lights please helpHey everyone! This is my first post. I have a 2006 dodge charger 2.7L V6 .

I just got it and the dash instrument lights do not work. kms, and other lights work fine and dim with the dimmer and the interior lights work with the dimmer as well.

So the instrument backing lights don't work and also the lights for ac controls dont work and also the cigarette lighter does not work... are all these connected? fuse? what should i be looking for or what could be the problem?

There is a power distribution box in the trunk next to the battery (under the trunk mat). Check the highlighted fuse which controls the cigarette lighter and probably the dash lights too.

Thanks for the pic... I checked that fuse a few mins ago and yes it was blown... replaced it and went to turn on the instrument lights... no luck.. still nothing.

Check the fuse again and see if it blew again after you turned on the lights (that means you have a short somewhere). Otherwise, start checking all of the fuses.

The other fuse to check is the one highlighted below. It controls the climate control module and may have the lights on it's circuit.

checked the fuses you mentioned and still nothing. And the one i replaced is still good and not blown again.... still no instrument lights.

Any other suggestions?

OK, does the cig lighter work now that you've replaced that fuse? I'm talking about the first one Ddaddy pointed out.

If it doesn't you may have a connector or two behind the dash that has come loose.

Ok so the cig lighter is working fine now.

But I still have no instrument lights.

I took the bottom part of the dash off and checked the connection to the dimmer switch and everything seems to be connected. I still have no instrument lights.

Update - after trying everything i could think of i just installed a new cluster and now the backlighting works.

hi I am having the same problem with the same car witch cluster did you replace?
