ok i got the head off the spirit today.

pictures say it all!!! damn it a nice easy hgead gasket turns in to at the very least a new piston!!.

Whats weird is the head gasket wasn't blown out where the ring land is broken and the head in the cylinder the the ring land broke looks ok one little spot where it has a ding it it you can kinda see it in the close up picture.

I think some one may have know about this and just tossed a new head on it, the place that is always cracked in between the valves looks like some one tired to fix it.

arrggh im so broke!! with td.com down i have now way of seeing if any of the td guys up here have a spare bottom end or full motor. anyone know any td guys up in new england? or atleast have a spare piston and rod for a 2.5 they can send me????!! fuck fuck fuck!!!!!

also I forget to mention the cylinder walls are perfect too?! I have no clue where that peice of ring land went!!

Eric, i've gort a brand new piston,rings and rod you can have but the rod developed some rust from storage(8 years)i'm sure it can be used with a little lube. damn those 2.5's that top ring seems to always take a toll on the piston, that is why i like my 2.2's

 

I am working on a local fix but, How much for the shipping you think? how would you like the payment?
