yeah right, the JR ones grenade over 12 psi
maybe the one for the civic si could pull a little more due to the design differences, but I don't know.
you can do 30 psi easily

the hard part is having an efficiency greater than 5%

No doubt seemed kind of fishy, hence the reference to teenage bench racers

not on the blowers that are made for hondas.
the JR ones that are made by Eaton grenade themselves if you spin them too fast, I've heard several times that 12 lbs can be enough to make them implode.

I'm not too sure about the Vortech kit, however it is driven by a shaft that runs all the way across the engine from the belt side to the tranny side.
can you imagine what could happen if you happened to bend that shaft a hair or do something to throw off the balance and then spin the motor up to 8000 rpms? I am pretty sure due to the pully sizing that shaft is spinning pretty damn fast, especially if you were trying to pull 30 psi.

Cliff notes: Blowers for hondas are great for daily drivers but suck when it comes to big dyno numbers.

I think we are talking more Honda tech in here than they are in the Honda "Tech" forum

There is a big difference between the vortech and eaton style SC's. Eaton is a roots type blower, vortech is a centrifugal. Like I said I am no SC expert but I think the roots type blower is more prone to grenading. After all the centrifugal is just a mechanically (as oppose to gas driven) turbo compressor. This type is probably pretty reliable at higher boost, provided you can get the power to the input shaft reliably.

I'll have to check the game again, a lot of the parts in the game are actually name brand, and honestly I think it was a JRSC, so it is probably way off on the in game boost figures.

Of course the other possibility is that the programmers decided to skip writing a separate SC boost characteristic into the game. It might be using the same program parameters it uses for the turbos, since there are a lot more turbo parts and upgrades in this game.
