Designed by John Moses Browning for Colt and approved by the US Ordinance department in 1911. Used as primary issue sidearm in all branches until it's replacement in 1985 by shitty Beretta 9mm's.
Best automatic pistol ever designed. This weekend I'll be buying my first. Hopefully second as well if I can find a good deal. After that I'll be looking to buy a real WW II GI gun, problem is...they aren't cheap
