Default Just in case I hadn't shown anyone...

http://grove.ufl.edu/~sae/images/formula/2001/formulapics2.htm

Here are some pics of a car I worked on heavily when I was a freshman. I kind of slacked off last year and only did composite work for the car, unfortunately they don't have any pics of the car from last year. I am trying not to be as much of a slacker and get my butt down there and help out more since the K is not here.

Just some specs:

Engine: Honda 600 F3 sport bike engine with integrated 6spd sequential gearbox.

Spark/Fuel Management: Motec stand alone with custom fuel maps

Power: 85hp with a 20mm conical restrictor, torque=?? (besides it being a Honda engine I really don't know )

0-60mph: just a hair under 4secs

Weight: about 600lbs (if I remember right)

The thing is damn fast and with the Burns stainless steel exhuast componenets and the Hindle straight flowing pipe it sounds damn mean for a sport bike engine.

Oh and BTW last year was one of the few years they didn't blow the engine.

Werd booty. Usf is still stuck with mini baja, however the wheels are turning for a formula car next year.

Just curious, what do you think a cheapo one could be built for?? We're working on raising money now, and its coming VERY slowly.

I have no clue about actual money. I could give you a price from say the cost report but that would be nowhere near what is actually spent. I mean we get some stuff for free, other stuff discounted and the cost report also factors in man hours for the total.

I'll see if I can find out what type of actual funding you would need. All I know is the best way to start is to get some sponsors, its all about the sponsors. I'd try Ford if they haven't yet, they like to sponsor a lot of teams.

And Mini Baja is the pits as far as I am concerned. I mean some schools make some awesome baja cars, but there is nothing like the performance of a mini formula car.
