Default neon questions.

im building a dodge neon and have a couple basic questions, such as....

is there a speed limiter on a stock neon, and if so at what speed?

where does one go about gettin some good suspension for it for a reasonable price?

budget is VERY important and i need to know a couple CHEAP go fast tricks that anyone knows from previous experience.

please this is a serious post and i would appreciate any help concerning any of those or anything else that anyone has to offer.

also if anyone has/knows anywhere/anyone that has ACR suspension components that they are lookin to get rid of please.... im lookin for them.

thanx in advance

Why do you need to know about the speed limiter?? It really isn't a good car for top end.

But yes there is one and it is set at 124. Some people have said theres doesn't have it but most do unless you have a mopar ecu or a real acr.

Suspension wise, acr linear rate springs will run you about $100 front and rear and can be ordered from the dealer. Koni struts are $400. Kybs work fairly well but the money would be better saved for konis. Poly bushings make a vast improvement as do the acr swaybars if you don't have them.

Also another difference with an acr is a 14:1 steering rack over the normal 18.5:1 and the shorter 5th gear at .81 vs .74 and overall gear at 3.94 vs 3.54.

As far as saying this is a serious post, the people in here will give you a straight answer as long as you're nice. This room is completely different than the rest of the board as all of us know our stuff and are willing to help.

Btw, one of the best places for parts in my experience is howellautomotive.com

There is also moderperformance.com and blackdogmotorsports.com if you want the really trick stuff.

kool thanx man.

p.s. this is a single cam, so does the speed limit change

(we just need it to be cleared to about 115 cuz we just need it high enough for the 1/4 mile trap speed) and if you want details on the whole project find me online

Well without major engine work, which would include standalone ecu or afx or mopar performance ecu, you don't have to worry about hitting a 115 trap speed.
