I've got a mig, just not very good with it. As for the machinist, I just need the mechanical nazis to get away from the shop for a little while.

Same here, if I can get those damn SAE nazis out of the machine shop I would have access to 2 lathes, 3 mills and a cnc. I know how to use the lathes and the mills, cnc I could learn if I had the program. Thing is they wouldn't knowlingly let me build a part for my car. We also have a TIG, but I have no experience welding anyways, plus TIG is supposedly harder to master than MIG.

Its ok there are a few design classes I will have next year where I have to actually construct something, so that will be my excuse. Two of the people in SAE were allowed to use the shop to build their own go cart because it was for a design class. Of course it was them that decided to build a go cart, most other students build something smaller.
