Default Need some advice.... Help!

I was trying to get the flywheel off the engine last night and I could not keep the flywheel still. I wedged a 2x4 underneath the flywheel, put one of the bellhousing bolts back in and wedged a crowbar, and still could not get any of the flywheel bolts to come loose, and this was with 2 people.

I don't have access to a compressor, as the engine is on the ground now.

Anyone have any slick ideas on how to get this mother off?

Put a ratchet on the harmonic balancer bolt and wedge that against the ground or
If the oil pan is off put a peice of wood between the crank and the Block. Try using some PB Blaster on the Bolts to help loosen them up some.

Harmonic balancer is on a 2.2 engine?

I wasn't aware of that, unlees they use the crank pulley as one.

Hey maybe that was my problem the whole time, no balancer.

Mike, I know you will read this tonight.

Help me out here.

Also The family will be coming up Saturday night, not very late, maybe 7
then we can do the other on Sunday!

no, they dont have balancers. I believe the timing belt acts as one (absorbs the vibration)

Well, it helps to know what engine you are referring to

Well excuse us. We got V8's on the brain Also thinking of the Neon where the pulley balancer is kinda one in the same.
Neons.org got ugly on this one. The neon doe have a harmonic balancer, its built into the stock pulley by a little bit of rubber, its just not the big old thing most people are accustomed to. Trying to get stuff across to ignorant people who don't do the work themselves is impossible.
