Default Intrepid tranny ?s

My dad called me this morning and said one of his friends is having problems with his tranny and asked if I'd swap it for him. I immediately laughed and said hell no.

1) Has anybody swapped one??

2) How hard is it??

The car is a 93, 3.3 liter so I don't really know much about it. My dad is kind of a tool so it might not be anything serious with it, but worst case is it will have to be swapped and I really don't feel like doing it (hell, i've hardly recovered from swapping neon clutches about 3 months ago)

Don't know, I doubt anyone is gonna know this. I would venture to guess it will be a pain. Aren't these engines actually mounted the correct way like a RWD car, but FWD?

I'm pretty sure they are. Maybe I'll go take a look and determine how bad it would be.

dunno. we pulled the entire engine and trans. It was in a mini. I believe we had the front core support off too b/c it was wrecked.

they are a pain in the a$$ you have to remove the exhaust system than unbolt the craddle with engine/trans and unblot trans. if you have a car lift its a easy job if you don't than its a big job here's how i did it; lifted the car put a large bench table under car unbolt everything set engine/trans/craddle on bench lift car remove trans.

Thanks for the info, doesn't sound awful, but I think I'll pass on this one.
